I love the subjects of organization and structure so productivity goes hand in hand. After all, the purpose of the two are so you can Be more productive.

Furthermore, think about the times when you hit a streak of just getting shit done. You probably knew where everything that you needed was. You probably had a to-do-list and were knocking out one task after another.

It felt great, right? I know.

Being productive can be a whole vibe. It’s a zone that you get into and it feels amazing to be getting your shit together.

I’ve always considered a habit the cousin of discipline. Simply because one forms and revolves around the other.

Your Health and Wellness Concerns Should Be Taken Seriously

If you’re a hip hop fan, it’s been rough as hell lately. We often don’t think about the health and wellness concerns of our favorite artists, especially when you’re growing up on their music.

In 3 weeks we’ve lost DMX, Black Rob and Shock G from Digital Underground.

DMX had his struggles with addiction most of his life but his passionate expression in his art form seemed to carry him when nothing else would. He was a Really strong brother who struggled with a rough upbringing and the demanding lifestyle of the music industry.

Black Rob had a rough upbringing, but made it into a successful space with hit after hit early in his rap career.

We are still waiting to hear about Shock G’s cause of death.

{Update on Shock G. According to reports, it is being called a drug overdose.}

These tragic losses so close together are one of those moments that just make you pause. Pause long enough take an inventory on mental health, spiritual health and overall well being.

Rest in power to DMX, Black Rob and Shock G.

I wanted to make sure I led off with that. We’re in a time where the average person’s anxiety is through the roof, and it’s warranted. The global pandemic is still in full swing (even with mass vaccinations going on as I write this), the economy is punch drunk at best, unemployment is still at a staggering number, and yet we still have to find a way to maintain and live out here.

Anxiety is a lifelong battle that you wrestle and get a hold of. If you can, you learn how to make it work for you and not against you. I know that’s easier said than done because when it hits, it can render you helpless beyond the capacity for rational thought.

It’s the damn Triggers though…that ‘s where it can sneak up on us…right?

For myself, it’s the mornings that are the worse. But knowing this about myself, I try to jump out of the bed right away. I do this to avoid, what some facets of the military would consider, “stink and think”.

Stink and think is defined as: a bad way of thinking, that makes you believe you will fail, that bad things will happen to you, or that you are not a very good person.

It’s a vicious vortex of negative thoughts and if you’re familiar with it, you know how it can paralyze you. If you experience this same thing in the morning, get out of bed as soon as possible and get productive.
